SERIALS/CLIFFHANGERS Known as either “Serials” or “Cliffhangers”, each weekly 12-15 minute chapter ended with “to be continued” until the final chapter some 13 or 15 weeks later. The first serial was actually filmed by Thomas Edison in 1912. These chapterplays were aimed at both kids and their parents and included westerns, crime, mystery jungle adventures, aviation acrobatics and sci-fi genres. NOTE: all our offerings contain the original unedited version, including cast and crew credits and all chapter “intros”.
